Rob is responsible for the conservation and maintenance of the National Heritage Collection, over 400 of some of the most significant ancient monuments and historic buildings in the care of English Heritage. He was previously an Assistant Director of Conservation at the National Trust and an Associate Director in the Atkins Environmental Planning team. An archaeologist by background, over the last 25 years has built specialisms in heritage management, building conservation and construction project management. He has particular interest in climate resilience, leading the charity’s strategy on climate change and pathways to net zero. He is a guest lecturer on heritage and environmental sustainability at University College London and is Chair of the Historic Environment Forum COP26 Task Group that recently released the ‘Heritage Responds’ report on taking positive action on climate change.
