Kate Mavor is CEO of the English Heritage Trust, a charity formed in 2015 to conserve and promote 420 historic sites and over 500,000 artifacts, covering six millennia of England’s history.
These include Stonehenge, Hadrian’s Wall, Kenwood, Osborne, 66 castles and 84 ecclesiastical sites – as well as the London Blue Plaques. Previously wholly reliant on state funding, the charity is aiming for financial independence by 2022.
Kate was formerly CEO of the National Trust for Scotland, Project Scotland and Language Line. Kate is a graduate and Honorary Fellow of Trinity College, Oxford, holds an honorary degree for services to conservation from Heriot Watt University and is a Trustee of the National Youth Theatre.
