Nicholas Boys Smith is the founding Director of Create Streets and a Commissioner of Historic England. He is the author of many books and reports on planning, the politics of housing and the links between urban design with public support, wellbeing and long term value.
He has also written widely in the mainstream and specialist press and was a judge of the 2016 and 2018 Sunday Times British Home Awards. He has been described by The Architects’ Journal as a “leading figure” on issues to do with the built environment. Many of Create Streets’ ideas are now being embedded in national and local planning policy.
