Dr Anne Kemp is an Atkins Fellow, and Director, responsible for BIM Strategy and Implementation across the Infrastructure business, supporting the Digital Director, and is part of the Global BIM Strategy team. She has been working in the industry for 25 years, delivering information to where it is needed for informed and intelligent decision making.
Anne is Chair of the UK BIM Alliance, involving over 80 organisations including a coalition of the institutions, BIM4 Groups and BIM Regions, and with backing from senior leaders across the industry. The Alliance is providing leadership for implementation of BIM Level 2 across UK industry, continuing on and complementing the work of the UK BIM Task Group which has now morphed into Digital Built Britain. Anne is Chair of BuildingSmart UK and Ireland, and serves on the International Council.
She is Convenor for ISO19650 – which is lifting the BS/PAS1192 suite (on which the UK Government’s level 2 BIM mandate is based) to ISO and working in parallel with CEN. Anne is spear-heading negotiations across the international community in order to gain consensus around the standard. Anne continues to serve on the Steering Group for the BS/PAS1192 suite, and sits on B555, and the ISO Task Force to develop strategy around standards for BIM, Geospatial and Digital Engineering.
Anne served two years as Chair for AGI between 2012 and 2014, during which the organisation underwent a comprehensive re-structuring and branding, and launched the highly successful Geo Big 5 series. She is the Chief Editor for AGI’s Foresight Report 2020, which was launched in November 2015, to wide acclaim, reaching 5000 downloads within 2 months, and is frequently asked to do keynotes on future direction of the industry. She also served as Chair of ICE’s BIM Action Group (2012-2016), and of BIM4Infrastructure UK (2014-2016). She has been part of the UK Government BIM Task Group helping the departments on their journey to implement BIM, in particular Highways Agency and Environment Agency, and has been Strategic Advisor for HS2 and Eight2o (the alliance for Thames Water) on Digital Engineering, and now of Heathrow.
Anne graduated in September 2015 as a prizewinner for her MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School, focused on enabling sustained collaborative working across the infrastructure industry.
