John is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and is BSc degree-qualified, with 49 years in the construction industry, and 19 years in estate management.
He is the founding Director of Construction and Estate Management Consultancy, Teampatch Ltd. John is a Non-Exec Director of Furniture Group Manufacturing Ltd and Executive Director of Newton Park Residents Association Ltd.
Technical Management, Sales and Marketing, Business Development and Business Improvement are John’s areas of expertise, with strong focus on objective-driven successful outcomes, strategic and succession planning.
His technical and managerial experience is predominantly within the Ground Engineering sector, and within Main Contracting, with companies such as Roger Bullivant, Abbey Pynford, and Kier.
John is a past Chairman of the FPS (Federation of Piling Specialists) and of ASUC (the Association of Specialist Underpinning Contractors) and is past Vice Chair of DFI – Europe (Deep Foundations Institute).
John is currently Technical Consultant for, and an honorary member of, ASUC.
He has been involved with numerous construction-related initiatives and was a working group member of the team which developed National Vocational Qualifications for Underpinning and Mini-piling.
He was a task-group member and contributor to the IStructE publication “Subsidence of Low-rise Buildings”, and the initiator of the NHBC Foundation publication “Efficient design of piled foundations for low-rise housing”. John led the Reading Construction Forum working group which published the book entitled “Financial Protection in the UK building Industry”.
He gained his BSc degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Aston in Birmingham.
