Appointed as the COO of Willmott Dixon Construction in January 2015, John has since expanded his remit to include Willmott Dixon Interiors in January 2021. Combined, these businesses employ over 1,800 people and deliver an annual turnover in excess of £1.2bn. John has over 30 years of service with Willmott Dixon. Prior to his role as COO, he was managing director in Willmott Dixon’s London and South region, and has also held several senior commercial and operational roles within the business. A strong believer in purpose-driven and participatory leadership, John works hard to shape and develop the right culture within his businesses. In doing so, he inspires people to deliver exceptional results by focusing on the importance of customer service, innovation and the deeper purpose of the company. John is a passionate believer in putting the customer at the heart of our business. His successful Building on Better programme is about how we as a business offer a first-class service and quality product. The Building on Better approach is to achieve this through shaping and developing the right culture; inspiring people to deliver exceptional results by focusing on the importance of customer service, innovation and the deeper purpose of the company. John says; “I believe that you can only ever expect our people to give their natural best if they really believe in what they are doing and what the company stands for. We have a responsibility to deliver outstanding buildings for our customers and their customers. We also appreciate the impact we make on people’s lives; those that use our buildings and those that are in the communities we work in.” Willmott Dixon is a privately-owned contracting and interior fit-out group. Founded in 1852, they are still family run and are dedicated to leaving a positive legacy in communities and environment.
