Hariom leads on environment & sustainability at the Infrastructure Projects Authority, where she is creating a cross government sustainability framework for project delivery, and setting strategic direction to drive sustainability performance in the delivery of the UK Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP), which has a whole life cost of over £800 billion.
Prior to joining the IPA, Hariom spent 16 years working in Shell, in a wide variety of roles including strategy, major project planning, and ESG. She worked on the Shell Sustainability report and Shell Group disclosures between 2011-2013 and has managed the mitigation of environmental and social risks in projects internationally. She has extensive experience of providing strategy and governance advice to large scale, operated and non-operated, infrastructure projects in the early project stages.
