Maribel’s architectural interests include modular construction and sustainable architecture focusing on the current housing shortage whilst aiming to ensure that quality, beauty and ‘joy’ is retained in what we build. Maribel’s experience in the housing sector is broad giving her an overview that is a key asset —especially at formative project stages. She has a strong understanding of the development potential and planning possibilities for new sites as well as having valuable commercial awareness and solid construction experience including MMC. She recently joined HTA after 14 years at CZWG. At HTA, Maribel has worked on the planning stages of Phase One of Meridian Water, Enfield's' council £6 billion development, the first phase of which will result in approx. 1000 new homes. Maribel is currently working on two residential developments for Be First in Barking and Dagenham. Padnall Lake comprises 88 new homes at construction stage and Gascoigne East Phase 3b, 334 new homes at planning stage. In both of these projects Maribel has worked with Be First to help them achieve their MMC and PMV aspirations in ways best suited to the project's specific needs, type, scale and sites. Whilst at CZWG, Maribel recently delivered First Way Wembley, a new university campus and 678 room modular MMC student accommodation scheme and the successful Lyon Square, a new 310 unit residential/mixed use scheme for Redrow Homes in Harrow. At CZWG Maribel lead numerous prestigious projects- to name a few: Hale Wharf, a study for a 400 unit residential development in Tottenham; Spinningfields, an office and retail development for Allied London in Manchester; the Bournemouth Pavilion and Gardens for Trevor Osborne; St Edmund’s Terrace, a fast track high-end residential scheme in Primrose Hill; the interior fit-out designs for the penthouses of the award-winning ‘Alfred Court’ residential scheme on Fortune Green Road, West Hampstead; and Poplar Baths, a residential affordable housing scheme in Tower Hamlets. Maribel works collaboratively with clients and within the office. She has taken a key role in the management of the quality standards of the practice with particular emphasis on resourcing, training and recruitment. She was also lead consultant for the first BIM/Revit project in the office and is a strong supporter of its implementation throughout the industry.
