Adrian St.John is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and has spent almost 30 years working on major infrastructure and tunnelling projects in the UK and overseas, including High Speed 1 at St Pancras. He spent 6 years as Chief Engineer for BFK Joint Venture, the main contractor on £1.4bn of Crossrail tunnelling contracts. He is now the Engineering Director for Kier delivering two of the central sections of HS2. He is author of 13 published technical papers (winning the ICE Cooper’s Hill War Memorial medal in 2018), and has presented to international tunnelling audiences in Brazil, Croatia, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Berlin, and on several occasions to the British Tunnelling Society (BTS) in London. He has contributed to the production of Publicly Available Specification (PAS) for Temporary Works, and BTS Best Practice Guidance for the design of SCL tunnels, and is the Lead Supervising Civil Engineer for Kier Group.
